Something appears to be stirring in Erangel, and this time, players may not be the ones doing the hunting!
A mysterious celestial being called Kiaraa is set to put players through a test of their own, as October 8th approaches. But getting to her is only the beginning. Players will first need to land at Kiaraa’s Test, search the area for useful loot and decide when they’re ready to take the challenge on.
The area itself appears to hold a few clues. Treasure Chests can help players stock up on loot, while Mithai Boxes restore 50 Health and 50 Stamina. Then comes the real trigger: four Peacock Lamps hidden around the area. Light all four and Kiaraa awakens.
And players may want their squad close by when she does.
This is one test you probably don’t want to take alone
Kiaraa’s Test is designed more like a world-boss encounter than a traditional squad battle. Once she appears, different squads, duos and individual players can enter the battle zone; meaning the fight can quickly become as much about watching your opponents as surviving Kiaraa.
She brings two abilities to the fight: Arrow Rain, sending volleys into a designated area, and Sword Dance. Deplete her HP and you pass the Test.
But there’s a clever way for squads to regroup. Through the Team Assembly mechanic, teammates who are elsewhere on the map can enter a teleport zone and join the player who triggered the encounter. So what starts as one player’s challenge can quickly turn into a full-squad fight.
And if the squad manages to bring Kiaraa down, she doesn’t simply disappear. Players can receive exclusive loot including guns, Medkits and Kiaraa Tokens, which can be accumulated and exchanged for Kiaraa Spin Discount Vouchers, a limited QV Pack, an Avatar and Avatar Frame. Players can collect up to four Tokens in a match, with a daily cap of 12. There’s clearly more to Kiaraa than a boss with an HP bar. The bigger question is what awaits players on the other side of her Test.
