Redmi 8 gets a fourth price increase

In the past few months, Redmi India has increased the price of some of its phones. Back in May, it increased the prices of the Redmi 8A Dual, Redmi 8, and Redmi Note 8. All three phones have gotten three price hikes since they launched. Now, the Redmi 8 is getting a fourth price increase.

According to Mi.com, the Redmi 8 will now sell for ₹9,799 (~$131). The phone launched for ₹7,999 (~$107), then got increased to ₹8,999 (~$120) following the increase in Goods and Services Tax. In early May, its price was increased to ₹9299 (~$125), and then in late May, it got a third price increase to ₹9,499 (~$127).

The Redmi 8 was launched in India last year. It has a 6.22-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. There is a Snapdragon 439 processor inside the phone along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

The phone has 12MP + 2MP dual rear cameras, an 8MP selfie camera, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. There is a 5000mAh battery inside the phone with support for 18W fast charge. The Redmi 8 has an audio jack but you don’t need earphones for the FM radio to work. It also has a dedicated MicroSD card and charges via a USB-C port
