Xiaomi’s MIUI, which was a custom skin based off the Android operating system, has powered the Mi series (now Xiaomi series) and Redmi series phones for about 13 years. Now, the brand has announced its decision to retire the UI in favour of a new identity for its upcoming phones – HyperOS.
Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun recently confirmed the development of the HyperOS UI in a post on social platform X. Calling the switch, a “historic moment” in the Xiaomi timeline, Jun also announced that HyperOS will make its debut with the Xiaomi 14 series.
