iPhoneOS’ moniker appears in leaked promo before WWDC 2020 event

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2020 will be held between June 22 and June 26. The event will kick at 10 AM PDT in the U.S. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be an online-only event. Apple is expected to announce updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, TvOS, and watchOS at the WWDC 2020. Since the company has used the platform to announce new hardware in 2017 and 2019, there is a possibility that it may also unveil new hardware at the WWDC.
Earlier, Apple’s iPad ran on iOS. However, the Cupertino-based company renamed it to iPadOS last year. It is going to do the same for iOS for its iPhones. The company is all set to introduce version iOS 14 at the WWDC 2020. The iOS 14 for iPhones will most likely be dubbed as iPhoneOS.
Rumors surrounding the iOS 14 suggest that the iPhoneOS will arrive with a redesigned home. Also, apart from the usual grid view, the iOS 14 is expected to offer users with a list view option.

The iOS 14 is expected to provide to modify the default choice for preloaded apps like Maps and Music. The Messages app may come with a new feature that allow users to mention a specific person in a group by using an @ symbol. Such a feature is already available on other messaging apps such as WhatsApp and Slack.

The iPhoneOS is expected to introduce a fitness app for tracking activities like running, cycling, yoga, dance, and so on. It may also bring a new augmented reality app, a ‘PencilKit’ API, new accessibility options, new features for the Safari browser, and more.
