iQOO, a sub-brand of Vivo, has been pretty much limited to China market since its announcement in February 2019. The line-up currently has around five models selling in the country, and iQOO 3 Neo and iQOO 3 are expected to be in the works as well. Now,iQOO brand will be tapping the Indian waters in March and will function as an entirely separate entity from Vivo. As is the case in China, iQOO will be a premium brand with a focus on performance. Notably, India’s announcement will be the international unveil of IQOO as a separate brand
While we don’t really know which iQOO phone will be launching in India first, we expect it to have Snapdragon 8xx-series flagship chipset. This is an interesting development from Vivo and iQOO and comes just in time when Xiaomi declared POCO as a separate brand in India. Considering that OnePlus, Realme and Xiaomi are upping the budget flagship game in the country, iQOO seems to be gearing up to spice things up more. However, we have to wait a little longer to know more details about the iQOO phones that will be made available in India. As we approach March, we should get more details regarding these handsets.
Separately, Vivo V1950A phone had recently bagged TENAA certification in China, revealing that it has a 6.89-inch full HD+ display with 1,080 × 2,256 pixels resolution and will be available in two models: 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB storage. The Vivo V1950A is said to boot Android 10 out of the box. It measures 167.44 x 76.14 x 9.4mm and weighs 219.5 grams. Interestingly enough, the TENAA images don’t show any physical buttons on the Vivo V1950A, meaning they might rely on squeeze-based gestures. The handset could be announced at the MWC 2020 show next-month.
