It’s just been a few days since the OnePlus 7T arrived in the market and it has earned a good name for itself from the critics and fans alike. However, OnePlus is known to upgrade its devices within few months and, as many of you may have expected, the OnePlus 8 renders have already been released based on leaked information. And what’s the big change? Well, the regular OnePlus 8 will look like the OnePlus 7 Pro, albeit with a visible camera on the front.
Cashkaro, a portal known for reliable leaks, has come up with the renders of the OnePlus 8 based on information obtained from internal leaks. And from what they have produced, it seems quite believable. And if this is indeed what OnePlus will show by early 2020, OnePlus fans could be in for a massive treat.
The OnePlus 8 looks exactly like the OnePlus 7 Pro at first glance. Well, not exactly a lookalike but it looks 96 per cent identical to the OnePlus 7 Pro, except for the hole-punch cutout for the front camera. The OnePlus 8 has a similar narrow-bezels display with curved edges. Yes, the regular phone will now have curved edges! However, instead of a pop-up selfie camera, the OnePlus 8 has a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera — finally on a OnePlus phone.
The rear of the OnePlus 8 also has an identical design to the OnePlus 7 Pro. There’s no circular camera design from the OnePlus 7T — seems like it was a one-off concept that OnePlus tried this year. The cameras are arranged neatly in a vertical stack in the centre.
On the sides, it’s the usual affair — you get to see a USB-C port, the Alert Slider and the usual buttons. However, the speaker grille has a new design.
This leak, however, doesn’t only reveal the design. It is said that OnePlus will finally include wireless charging on this phone — is there anything left for this phone not to be reckoned as a proper flagship phone? OnePlus already confirmed last week that all future phones will feature the 90Hz refresh rate panels as standard. Additionally, the OnePlus 8 will surely come with the Snapdragon 865 chipset, which itself is expected to be released later this year.
If this is the OnePlus 8, what will the OnePlus 8 Pro have in store for us? Will it feature the waterfall display that we saw recently on the Vivo Nex 3? Will it have a quad-camera setup? Our imaginations are running wild right now.
